Operations

The operations team is the point of contact between the customer and our QHL staff. Depending on the position, one of the main responsibilities would be to oversee the day-to-day operations of unloading and loading freight containers or to oversee the yard operations.

Lumper

QHL lumpers specialize in unloading and loading freight containers by hand. 

Inbound – Outbound – Cross Dock

  • Unload and load freight containers
  • Sort boxes by item #, SKU #, etc
  • Palletization
  • Shrink wrap
  •  Able to lift boxes contantly (up to 50 pounds)
  • Reliable means of communication (cell phone or e-mail)
  • Reliable transportation (to work site)
  • Flexible schedule
  • Full Time / Part Time
  • Day / Swing / Night
  • Week / Weekend

Yard Hostling Driver

Our drivers assist in the movement and organization of freight containers in our client’s warehouse yard.

Container Spotting – Yard Organization

  • Ensure freight containers are ready for unloading, loading, and transport.
  • Move freight containers around the yard; in and out of loading docks.
  • Clean and basic maintenance of terminal tractor.
  • Communicate with warehouse and QHL lumping leads.
  •  At least 3 years of experience as a yard hostler
  • Good driving record. No traffic convictions, tickets, accidents, or forfeitures on driving record.
  • Updated DOT physical card
  • Ability to operate manual transmission
  • Class A license for class A drivers
  • Full Time / Part Time
  • Day / Swing / Night
  • Week / Weekend
